Naming Vera

We went in with a list of 5 names. 40 hours after she was born we still had 5 names. In the last 5 minutes of our hospital stay we finally decided on Vera Ada Froderman. And we still love it.

VERA

Why? Mostly because we like it. We think it's a beautiful name. But also the origin and meaning: from the Latin 'verus' (true) and the Russian origin, 'faith'.  It's also traditional, but uncommon, and short - which is important with a 3 syllable surname.

ADA

Also because we like it. Bonus points for sharing this name with my paternal Grandmother, Ada Cordula Moore, and my niece Gabby! For me, it was also the fact that she "looked like" an Ada. For Jason, the fact that the first computer programmer was a woman named Ada Lovelace sealed the deal.
 We love this "comic" that features Ada Lovelace. Deech shared it with Jason a few days after Vera was born.
