19 months

Vera's nineteenth month has been a lot of fun. She has been better rested because she is taking a longer afternoon nap and going to bed on time consistently. Her schedule is usually like this:
7:30-8:30am - wake up
have breakfast
get dressed
get out of the house - visit a friend, go to a coffee shop, or run an errand
11:30am - lunch
12pm - read stories then nap
1:45-2:45pm - wake up from nap
have a snack
play around the house
6pm dinner
7pm bedtime

New Words: juice, vrooooom, hat, clouds, door, cheese, cracker
other new things:
- Pointing out when she hears a siren (which is usually several times a day since we live near hospitals) waiting for me to mimic the sound
- She has become an excellent climber - too good, Jason says
- Her new "i love nerds"shoes from Aunt Laura are still too big but she loves to put them on and do what Jason calls her "tap dance moves".
- Playing in the tent and tunnel that her Gramps got her - we spend sooo much time in there! It's a reading and tickle tent mostly. :)
- She has started to have jibberish conversations while walking around with the wooden iphone that auntie brea got her. Vera reminds me of Jason when she does this because he paces around when he talks on the phone.
- She has opened a few early Christmas presents and for the first time she is old enough to really enjoy opening a present and seeing the surprise inside. It is SO fun! Maybe all year long I'll just wrap things up randomly for her to open. Like her lunch.
- Singing Old Mcdonald Had a Farm. It's the only song she initiates.

Here she is modeling a headband I made her with animal ears. She didn't like it until I told her it was doggie ears.
Vera has really taken to coloring. One of my favorite things now is when she lays on the kitchen floor with a coloring book and a few crayons. I love encouraging her creativity!
Playing with her friend Eliza and wearing a tutu for the first time. She LOVED it by the way.
She still makes that awesome squishy face! Don't ever stop, Vera!
Here she is listening to a Santa saxophone player on Cherokee Street.
Loving the wagon ride to the tree farm!
We had a perfect afternoon for it! Not so cold that we had to rush, but cold enough that it still felt like winter.
Watch out Vera! Santa's gonna get you!
Vera's friend Felicity gave her some play dough for Christmas!
We both love playing with it :) Here is Vera's 19 month old hand.
Modeling another headband - she liked this one right away. Although I certainly haven't encouraged it, she really is a girly girl. She likes shoes and accessories and flowers and putting on mommy's chapstick. I'd be concerned, but she also builds a rockin' tower and loves to crash her toy cars!
