15 months...and a half

Vera is now a seasoned traveler. Within two weeks she went from St. Louis, to New York, back to St. Louis, then to Lakeland, FL, and back to St. Louis! She did well on all the flights...and we were lucky to have people around us who were understanding and even helpful. She liked opening and closing the window over and over and over and over and over...that would have kept her occupied the whole flight if we hadn't been worried it was annoying people. I will compose separate posts to describe those trips soon.

She is excellent at climbing stairs. And playing hide and seek - she loves the anticipation of being found and is so proud when she finds one of us! She is also following in her female cousins' footsteps - she loves to accessorize! Sunglasses, scarves, belts, purses, shoes - especially shoes!

Between getting to play in the water at Felicity's house and enjoying the baby pool at Eliza's birthday party we can see how much she is going to love swimming and splashing around next summer!

Communication is getting a lot easier now that she can walk. When I ask if she wants to eat she walks into the kitchen and points to her chair if she is hungry. She understands what no means (and can say it now), which helps her stay safe and helps us understand when she has had enough of something.

Happy Birthday Eliza! We love you!

  1. I'm impressed with her travel skills! I can't imagine flights with a little one, but I'm glad it went smoothly!
